In Bregenz, you spend Monday-Thursday in class and then travel Friday-Saturday. During weekdays, you have class during the day (2 hours per class) in blocks. There are three blocks during the day total. In my schedule, I had class during 1st and 3rd block. During 2nd block I typically ate lunch (either a banana and nutella or a Doner Kebab-you must try one of these!), studied for my 3rd block, skyped family, or posted pictures of my last weekend's travel.
After everyone gets out of class, we got into a routine where we would hang around the classroom buiding and study together until supper. We ate supper at the Hirschen which is included in the program fee. Since stores do not stay open late in Austrian culture there were two options after supper 1) go to a bar where you can socialize or 2) go get a bottle of wine or ice cream and head down to the lake to watch the sunset. Option 1 ruled for the first week then everyone checked their budgets and most switched to option 2. |
I loved going down to the lake! There are steps where we would sit and watch the waves come in, tease the swans, people-watch on the locals, and watch the beautiful sun set over the large lake. It was very peaceful and quite beautiful!
